I am a computational linguist by training. I studied English applied linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, earning a Bachelor and a Master’s degree before going on to study computational and functional linguistics for my PhD degree in the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics at the City University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Webster. During my PhD studies, I was offered a sponsored visiting scholarship at Information School, University of California at Berkeley, supervised by Prof. Lewis Lancaster. After earning my PhD, I served as a post-doctoral scholar at City University of Hong Kong before accepting a teaching position at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. My research interests include Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Data Science and Systemic Functional Linguistics. One of my recent research focus is on utilizing massive amounts of relational data collected from the online peer reviewing process of student pronunciations to study the interactions between perception, production and feedback in the pronunciations of EFL students.

基于机器学习的功能语法标注分析系统(见《Taiwan Journal of Linguistics》,2015,第一作者;《Journal of World Languages》,2014,第一作者)。
